“Charlize Goubran has an excellent stage presence and takes control of the stage as Jo. Goubran is not afraid to take up space with loud, bold choices, which are neatly balanced with moments of truthfulness and sincerity."

Cecelia Joseph, Irvine High School

"Extraordinary and eerie, San Juan’s “Animal Farm” is magnificent thanks to the cast and crew but comes with a warning: power always corrupts."

Victoria Lam, Santa Margarita Catholic High School

"Parker Bryan does an excellent job in her portrayal of Angela. The already ominous atmosphere thickens with the tremors in Bryan’s voice as she phones 911 from the theater, reporting that “everyone” has been hurt. Later in the production, Bryan’s worried expressions and labored breathing increase with the pace of the piano as Angela chokes out the only four words she can remember from the night of the crime; “The play’s not over.”

Tessa Maryott, St. Margaret's Episcopal School

“Alejandro Thompson, playing Orpheus, weaves agony and desperaIon through his voice when he reads out his letters that he’s writen to Eurydice, his love and longing crystal clear."

Addy Engelken, Tesoro High School

"When Zubin BhaIa enters as Narrator, he is calm, unhurried, and wields deadpan humor dryer than a chili pepper every-flavor bean– a complete foil to the wacky main cast. BhaIa’s unwavering imparIality and clear BriIsh accent provide comedic contrast, standing impossibly sIll amongst the lively Puffs celebraIng their new members."

Ellie Kim, Capistrano Valley High School

"Algernon (Chris Preusse) is an absolute jester, prancing about and ricocheting off chairs and couches in quick bursts of raw energy-- his face does the same, alternating between innocently wide smiles and mischievously squinting eyes"
